Nothing could justify such an exterminating decree but the absolute authority of God; and this was given: all the reasons of it we do not know; but this we know well, the Judge of all the earth doeth right.utterly destroyLeviticus 27:28, 27:29; Numbers 24:20; Deuteronomy 13:15, 13:16, 20:16-18; Joshua 6:17-21 slayExodus 20:5; Numbers 31:17; Isaiah 14:21, 14:22 ox and sheepGenesis 3:17, 3:18; Romans 8:20-22ReciprocalGenesis 36:12 - Amalek; Exodus 17:14 - for I will; Numbers 13:29 - Amalekites; 31:15 - General; Deuteronomy 2:34 - utterly destroyed; Joshua 6:21 - utterly; Judges 21:10 - Go and smite; 1 Samuel 14:48 - smote; 15:8 - Agag; 15:9 - the best; 15:11 - hath not performed; 15:20 - have brought; 22:19 - men; 27:9 - and the camels; 2 Samuel 1:8 - an Amalekite; 1 Kings 8:44 - whithersoever; 2 Kings 3:19 - And ye; 2 Chronicles 6:34 - by the way; Esther 3:2 - bowed not; 3:13 - both young; Psalm 106:34 - concerning; 149:7 - General; Jeremiah 44:7 - child; 44:21 - did; 47:7 - the Lord; 48:10 - Cursed; 50:21 - and do; 51:22 - General; Lamentations 2:21 - young; Ezekiel 9:6 - old; Amos 8:7 - I will; Revelation 16:1 - and pour Verse 4TelaimJoshua 15:24, Telemtwo1 Samuel 11:8, 13:15ReciprocalJudges 20:17 - four hundred; 2 Kings 3:6 - numbered Verse 5laid waitor, fought, 1 Samuel 15:5ReciprocalJoshua 8:4 - lie in wait Verse 6the Kenites1 Samuel 27:10; Numbers 24:21, 24:22; Judges 1:16, 4:11, 5:24; 1 Chronicles 2:55 departGenesis 18:25, 19:12-16; Numbers 16:26, 16:27, 16:34; Proverbs 9:6; Acts 2:40; 2 Corinthians 6:17; Revelation 18:14 ye showedExodus 18:9, 18:10, 18:19; Numbers 10:29-32; 2 Timothy 1:16ReciprocalJoshua 6:17 - because Verse 7smote1 Samuel 14:48; Job 21:30; Ecclesiastes 8:13 HavilahThis Havilah was probably situated in Arabia, and the district of Chaulon may mark the spot. These memorial pillars were anciently much in use; and the figure of a hand, by its emblematical meaning, was well adapted to preserve the remembrance of a victory. Niebuhr, speaking of the Mesjed Ali, or Mosque of Ali, says that, "at the top of the dome, where one generally sees on the Turkish mosques a crescent, or only a pole, there is here a hand stretched out, to represent that of Ali." Another writer informs us, that at the Alhamra, or red palace of the Moorish kings in Grenada, "on the key-stone of the outward arch (of the present principal entrance) is sculptured the figure of an arm, the symbol of strength and dominion."ReciprocalNumbers 31:13 - went forth; but it should be remarked, that what Samuel did here, he did in his magisterial capacity; and that Agag had been a cruel tyrant, and therefore was cut off for his merciless cruelties. Farther, it is not likely that he did it by his own sword, but by that of the executioner. What kings, magistrates, and generals do, in an official way, by their subjects, servants, or soldiers, they are said to do themselves - qui facit per alterum, facit per se. hewedNumbers 25:7, 25:8; 1 Kings 18:40; Isaiah 34:6; Jeremiah 48:10ReciprocalGenesis 19:36 - General; 31:46 - an heap; Exodus 21:24 - General; Leviticus 27:28 - no devoted; Numbers 24:7 - Agag; Joshua 4:19 - Gilgal; 10:26 - Joshua; Judges 3:21 - thrust it; 8:20 - General; 9:24 - That the; 1 Samuel 10:8 - to Gilgal; 2 Samuel 21:9 - before the Lord; 1 Kings 2:25 - he fell; Esther 3:1 - Agagite; Jeremiah 50:15 - as she; Daniel 2:5 - ye shall; Joel 3:7 - and will Verse 34Gibeah1 Samuel 11:4Reciprocal10:26 - Gibeah; 13:2 - in Gibeah; 19:18 - to Samuel; 1 Kings 15:17 - Ramah; Isaiah 10:29 - Ramah; Hosea 5:8 - Gibeah Verse 35Samuel1 Samuel 19:24 Samuel mourned15:11, 16:1; Psalm 119:136, 119:158; Jeremiah 9:1, 9:2; Romans 9:2, 9:3; Philippians 3:18 repented1 Samuel 15:11; Genesis 6:6Reciprocal49:27 - a wolf; 2 Samuel 6:23 - unto the day; Jeremiah 13:17 - my soul; 18:10 - then; Romans 10:1 - my heart's; 2 Corinthians 12:21 - that I
